Same problem as the inerrancy devotees. There are at least three problems
with inerrancy:

1. When the text quotes someone, the text could be perfect but the speaker
could be wrong (or lying).

2. The speaker could be exaggerating ("Solomon had treasures without end").

3. The translator or copyists could be wrong. The best example is the
reverse of Occam's Razor: In Biblical translations, the more complex the
text, the closer it is to being true. Often translators or copyists
"simplified" the text to make it more palatable or understandable.

The basic rule is that it is not important what the Bible (or other sacred
text) says. It is not even important what God (or other deity) says. What is
important is what God meant! And often God did not say what He meant nor
mean what He said.
