Pardon my ignorance as I've never programmed on mainframe, but do you
(Mainframe programmers) not have access (even by now) to a good
debugger for testing? About 15 years ago I used DG ICOBOL and I think
to debug that I used DISPLAY statements. After that I used ANIMATOR
and that has been carried over into Netexpress. Without it, I can see
another piece of the argument for not using COBOL anymore.
No, could not survive without Netexpress/Animate.
