Judson, I realise that my belief in GW is as strong as your scepticism

I do not think it is too late to save the world but I do think that,

You're railing against the tide. You can't get the world to cooperate, so
you might as well accept the inevitable (whatever it is).
As for global warming, there are no observable, unequivocal, facts. There
are, however, unequivocal computer models (which don't really agree with
each other). Here are some points you may have overlooked:
* The 2007 hurricane season was the third lightest in 40 years.
* The 2006 hurricane season had not one make U.S. landfall.
* Buenos Aires had its first snowfall since 1918
* The Peruvian government declared a state of emergency over cold-related
crop failures.
* Johannesburg, South Africa, had the first significant snowfall in 26
years.
* Australia experienced the coldest June ever.
* In New Zealand, cold weather endangered vinyards.
* In January, a five-day freeze in California wiped out $1.42 billion in
agricultural produce. A disaster declaration was made by the president.
* 95% of Georgia's peach crop was destroyed by cold, 90% of N.Carolina's
apples.
* In June, Denver recorded the lowest temperature ever, going back to 1872.
* December 4th in Seoul was the lowest on record (-5C)
* The Canadian government decreed this winter to be the coldest ever.
So, we have measurable facts observable to the naked eye or computer models.
Take your pick.
