I haven't a clue. I did get caught in a quake in Cyprus once but have
no idea as to what that measured. Many years ago (somewhere around
1976) an earthquake was reported to have knocked people over in the UK.
Yes, I remember it well. I was in the Midlands on the 7th floor of a
building, being interviewed for a job. The guy interviewing me went ashen as
the building swayed and and everything in the room rattled.
"What was that?!"
"Just an earthquake, best stay put. It'll pass in a few seconds."
He was obviously unaccustomed to them.
I got the job. Calm under pressure, he said... :-)
