Now, prove me wrong. Just honestly go on record right here that, if you
could
see real and unquestionable proof that the Bible is absolutely true and
reliable,
you would be willing to accept Jesus and submit your life to God.

So, open minded or not? I'm betting you will obfuscate, change the
subject or
otherwise avoid the issue. :-)

Anybody else want to take the challenge and demonstrate you are really
open,
and only waiting for evidence? How about you, Alistair? :-)

Nice try, Judson. Anybody who is honest and of a truly open mind would
readily agree that if there's real and unquestionable proof they'd accept
your theology. I would!

The problem is that your committment requires faith. To the rest of us,
truth is something that works whether we want it to or not. Pi = 3.14159...
no matter what we'd like it to be, and no matter that we've been assured by
someone important that it's 3 (including some US state legislations that
have tried) and no matter how much faith we have in that person. If Jesus
Christ comes tomorrow in all his glory and tells me that Pi = 3, then I will
have to check it out.

If you really expect or would like others to agree with you, you're going to
have to present your propositions and let us test them according to our
ideas of truth. If they work as you say, then you win. I have prayed, most
sincerely, twice in my life. Result: nothing at all. I have seen
innumerable examples of people desperately calling on God to save them - in
the face of a flood or an avalanche or a volcanic eruption - and I'd bet
that GWB prayed that Hurricane Katrina would miss - again, nothing. I
repeat - your ideas have to work whether people want them to or not before
sceptics will agree with you.
