already in balance "as if" it had been there. There would be chickens,
eggs, and everything in between. Trees would have rings. Adam could see
all stars bright enough to be visible.

To my mind, assumption A is illogical, and criticizing the Creation
account on that basis is asinine. :-)

But B implies that God is trying to fool us. Which fits better with
the way lots of Christians believe - those who don't think their way
will be punished as part of a grand plan.

A better alternative is to ask what is important to learn from the
scriptures. Where should one's efforts be best used - to prove
ourselves Right? Or to follow Jesus' example?
