Hmmmmm... maintaining conversion for (big customer) creates pain, losing

I did that before undertaking it. :-)
A physician who treats himself has a fool for a patient, Mr Dashwood, and

processing professionals who do their own cost-benefit analyses are, in
the words of Goldilocks, juuuuuuusssssst right.
The trick then is to ensure there is
no scope creep that undermines the original estimates. The deliverables
here
are clearly identified.
You've found a way insure that a Corner Office Idiot doesn't slip in a
