Check whether configuration files extfh.cfg, hredir.cfg (if using file share) and cci.ini
were copied to the XP clients, and match the server. If they were not copied, clients are
using defaults that probably do not match the server. In particular, the default for
filemaxsize was 2 on Win98, is 4 on XP. That affects locking and index buffering. Try
setting server and clients to 2.
Also, if the Win98 machines had an environment variable EXTFH= pointing to the
configuration file, make sure the XP machines also have an EXTFH=. If it was in COBDIR,
make sure COBDIR is set on the new machines.
