worse yet, "GO TO DEPENDING ON" where the targets are also the targets of
ALTER statements
That's not highly-demanding... that's piteously mewling for '... help....
help!'
The site is a state university, and the code was written in the late 70's.
according to a few of the folks that had been there forever, the original
author had a habit of oing to the campus pub (remember those?) for a few
hours every afternoon, and then went back to work.
It ended up being a complete rewrite, after completed the original
1500 loc condensed into about 175, as most of what was in the original was
either dead code or stuff that just could not logically happen.
