Registry is stored in memory. Memory is expensive. Default uses 14 megs of
memory which is mostly dead.
Soon it will use more than the default limit of 64megs. Its clumsy to use
the registry. Its an catch all situations.
An app should be as much as possible selfinstalling and able to restore
itself when registry is missing.
In my view an app should selflocate all its files if needed. Easy to
implement it, makes the program look good to, when it starts, scans for
missing files, recovers all errors and even if it takes a litle time, it
will be faster than starting an install programme. We dont need install
programmes anymore. Apps are so big that they can swallow theese functions
without anyone noticing.

The apps that gets to stay on my harddrive are the apps that doesnt need
anything but a restart after resofting the machine. Thats user friendly.
Heck this is Windows. You'll HAVE to reformat and reinstall it once in a
while to see that it actually runs MUCH faster on the first two weeks. Most
"enterprice" apps need to install the install program it seems. Theese apps
are trying to brun themself into the OS; Do you REALLY want to uninstal me ?
Do you really want to close ME down ? Dont do that, I am here to stay. This
strategy backfires, I have seen it again and again. Its funny to install a
program, but only the first 100 times.
