D7 Aplication events / console application

Hi the "application events" VCL component in Delphi 7
stops working when I enable the "CONSOLE application window"
in the linker options.

Specifically

1) Aplication works fine with console window disabled,

2) Aplication.OnActivate (or OnDeactivate) events do not
   occur when the application becomes active
  with the console window running.

Any Ideas ?
