I keep a couple around for emergencies. But generally I only use one LCD
monitor.

A KVM hub allows me to switch from box to box as need arises, with only a
few keystrokes. I did this when using a CRT monitor, and found the different
video signals from each box a problem for syncing--I could usually sync to
all, but one box would give me video too narrow, another dimmer than some,
etc. That problem vanished with an LCD monitor.

In fact, everything looks so similar when I switch from system to system
that I have to use color schemes to remind me what I'm looking at.

One really FUNNY thing being a multicomputer user is copying something to
clipboard in one system and expecting it to paste in another. I do that at
least once a week.

Price is still one advantage, though I don't think the spread is all that
great anymore. For me, a 14 inch TFT is as good as a 17 or 19" CRT simply
because it is so stable and crisp, and can be used closer to the viewer. I
didn't pay much over $200 for mine, IIRC.

The solution to this is lower ambient lighting levels. Most environments are
lit too brightly, IMV.
