It strikes me that you don't really *need* to know which filter method was assigned. You only need to be able to restore whatever method was there originally, regardless of whic specific method it was. That's much easier, and the code looks nicer, too.
Yes, the code is really more compact now and works well, thanks a lot Rob!
There must be an awful lot of side effects in that code, because on the face of it, it doesn't look like it does anything at all.
Well, the real code is not exactly like this. And with the value of the boolean variable 'ok' a flag is shown or not. And it was not question of names and addresses, but something else. But the main thing was that during maintaining a certain filter another filter was used and after that the original filter was restored.
