In case anyone else wants the info, the file win32.hlp exists in
\program files\common files\borland shared\mshelp
Now, why didn't I think of that in the first place?
Remove all the rubbish from windows\help - it only
screws up the indexing.

There ARE advantages to multi-posting: sometimes you
get answers!
