percentage

how do 	I code a little problem

I want to subtract say 2.5 percent off a number

I am not sure how to do the percentage part

I was trying to just take a certain amount of a number, for example I want to take 21000 of 2105302 ok that works well untill the number gets a lot higher, so I figure if can work out the percentage of the ubove number, which is 1.04 percent to be close enough. I could use a percentage rather than a fixed number.

The reason the numbers are so big, they are the mediaplayers position in an audio file,
