Hello Everybody,

I am designing a GUI that works mainly by dragging/dropping "clever" objects. I am seeking the "best way" to implement it by using Delphi. Could someone give me any clue on the most efficient way to handle between 500 - 1000 objects on the interface, allowing the user to chose one and act on it ?
I don't know :
- How I can make my obects appear on the interface (are they individually drawn, or everything is it implemented in some "draw" method ?)
- How an object will know when it will be selected and moved (the OnDrag /drop methods ?)

Thanks in advance for any bit of info,
Thierry

use A TimageList to show the icon view of the object, use a
TdrawGrid of sorts to show them, etc.,.,
etc., etc..
it's a long road ahead!
