I have undertaken to read about and to play with components in order to understand the way they are to be designed. I want them to be conceptually floating on different areas of the interface, and when they arrive on one given area we act automatically on them. In fact, it's quite simple to design and explain, and I hope to be able to implement it simply too.
My main concern is about the base component I have to use. It seems that the "TImageBox" may be a quite good base.
About the amount, if it is huge the objects will have to behave themselves in order to appear as groups, with the grouping information made obvious to the user...
Happily, I have time to make the whole, it's more a personal challenge than a commercial product with deadlines !
