Is ADO in D6 slower than in D5?

Hi all

I'm using MS SQL Server 2000, TADOConnection, and TADOQuery
in my client server application. Using D5 (Servicepack 2) I had no problems.
Updating to D6 (Servicepack 3) I found, that my D6 application is
about 10 to 20 % slower than my D5 application. Furthermore, I get
timeout exceptions on LAN systems, which didin't occur with D5.

Why is D6 slower than D5?
Can something be done against it?
