AV Connecting to a AS400

I have a utility that extracts data from different types of databases using
ADO. So far it works great of several different db. But when I try it on a
AS400 is get AV when I do Connect using AdoConnection.

I pick the AS400 OLE Driver, supply the connect ip and click on test and it
passes. Then I try to Connected to True and I get a AV after 30 or so
seconds and it never connects.

Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong ?
