I have a program that uses TADOConnection, TADOQuery and TDataSource. Upon startup with 2 of my customers both of which run Windows XP SP2, the program encounters an error that will shut the program down this error is "Error Creating Object, Please verify that the Microsoft Data Access Components 2.1 (Or Later) have been properly installed" I know that the SP2 will install MDAC 2.8 and JET 4 which my application relies on. I had my customer run the Component Checker which verified that MDAC 2.8 was installed. Any Ideas on what can be done? I found an Article on Microsofts site regarding MDAC issues
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;870630#XSLTH3207
since the SP2 is already installed you cannot install MDAC and the JET Drivers again but you can run the RUNTIFIX.exe I am not to sure if this will touch my problem.
There seem to be a lot of corrupt Mdac 2.8 installations. Sounds like you have
a couple.
Try following the directions in this URL

What a life saver! Thank you Brian, I had my customer up and running within 5 minutes. One would think Microsoft would realize what a problem this is.
Thanks!
