How to connect to Access/Excel files via ADO in MDAC 2.8, and Vista?

Starting with MDAC 2.6, Microsoft dropped support for Jet, and the ODBC Database Drivers.

Does that means that it is no longer possible to connect to Access/Excel files via ADO in MDAC 2.8 or under Windows Vista?

Please advise.

Thank you.
