Firebird is a good election for it. :)
MsAccess is a good desktop db, but a RDBMS like Firebird is IMO always
better for client/server apps.
I'm surfing internet to find documents to study and understand
firebird, but I haven't finded some examples for delphi.
I have downloade and installed the ODBC driver for Firebird, but I'm
not able to create a TADOConnection that use this drivers.
check the connection string here. IIRC correctly the Firebird ODBC
driver is the same as the Firebird IbPhoenix ODBC driver

You could also ask for help in the Firebird-ODBC mailing list. Check
their webpage for more information.
