Acutally,
Come to think of it, almost all of my work has been webbroker and there i
exclusively use BatchOptimistic locking. I scrub the data out of a web form
and post it in the query object myself and do a lot of updatebatch commands
so that the problem i just encountered doesn't exist. This was a GUI program
and I got caught with my pants down ...

I will definitely use the procedure a lot more.
