Size of EXE Delphi 7 v Delphi 2

I have just converted a Delphi 2 application to Delphi 7, produced as
a single EXE and the resuling program is 500K larger!

With smart linking I would have anticipated that it would be about the
same size.

Anyone any suggestion as to how to reduce it, while keeping it as a
signle exe for now.
