Obsolete, dont think so, the old IDEs will still be here when -06 emerges :)

Or, what if a user wants to update the FastMM and override the DeXter embedded one, there might be new defines that DeXter can't set.

Is FastMM going to be adapted to work with global variables or continue working like it now does (Can it be so adapted and still support old versions of the IDE) ?

I doubt DeXter way of setting the embedded FastMM setting is going to be dynamic enough to adapt to possible changes introduced in FastMM updates, so a dialog to go with FastMM would do the trick.

Besides, it's not like this is a big issue, a few days wasted, a week or two of relaxed programming at most, not that big a deal :)
