I disagree. Trying to come up with ways to promote participation in the
community to take on the tasks that need to get done has nothing to do with
doing an injustice to any previous practices. I really don't think we
should dismiss new ideas just because of some imagined offense that might be
taken by a previous participant. Seriously. Nobody's ego should be that
fragile. And if it is, it should not be made the problem of the entire
group....

I really disagree. If it is a consideration at all, it should a minor one.
This really surprises me.

That's it? What's the reasons for the points and the prizes then? Do they
serve no purpose? Can we not leverage them to encourage and promote
participation in management all the tasks that need to get done?
