FastMM Newbie Questions

I've been through the ReadMe, the FAQ, many comments in the source files, SourceForge forum, this newsgroup, Google, and possibly other places. I've still got questions that I hope someone can answer.

If I use a replacement BorlndMM.DLL, should I still have "ShareMem" as the first unit in the .DPR, or should I use one of the other FastMM units?

What does SimpleShareMem do? I seem to recall that it allows a shared memory manager with the use of a DLL. However, I can't find much about it in the current download 4.64. For that matter, SimpleShareMem.pas itself isn't even in the ZIP.
