getwindowtext() api for password mask ...

hi everybody, and happy new years :) now, let me explain what my problem
is ... i want to obtain the window's text which is on another object ...
i have already obtained its handle number (easily) and its text for
normal view windows ... but if it is masked by '*' character, i can not
obtain text which is in that control ... how can i do this ?
