I was using CR since v7
it works just fine in many different situations
there is almost no problem to distribute a engine (I did write couple of
scripts myself for CR7 and CR8)
there is no problem in changing SQL in current version.
if we look at IDE - compare RB and CR - you will find many similar things...
Updates? yes this section in horrible, but they do better now, there is
consolidated updates available and many issues addressed...
So version 9 is better...
Main advantage is Reports without Delphi (this is from user stand point) and
you can still use active data connectors to get data directly from Delphi
code if you would like.
Rave....? I think it will get same features very soon.

I do not have any problem to use Rave but I do not want to be limited to it.
