Yes, now I see it as a joke -- to be honest, I didn't even recall that
datamodules didn't exist in D1 until you mentioned it. Sounds like a good
quiz question for the "meet the Delphi team" session at the next BorConn: In
what version of Delphi did Datamodules first appear?

I guess you weren't at BorConn earlier this week. The main thrust of many
of the D8 demos was the amount of effort Borland has put into backward
compatibility. As an example, ~ 95% of the VCL source was not modified for
.NET; it was simply recompiled (going by memory here from Eddie's session).

People are getting all bent out of shape about what will or won't be in D8
and how easy it will be to port existing apps to .NET. Since the product
isn't even shipping yet, I think all these discussions are a bit premature.
