I doubt that THAT is the reason they were successful. It probably just made
it easier to be successful. The real reason is more likely to be WHAT people
can make with that IDE and environment. You could have the most flexible and
amazing IDE and still fail if the IDE doesn't let users make anything that
they are interested in making.
