The problem perhaps is that it stays in a middle category... For being a
player in
the major leagues (Oracle, SQL Server) it would need much more than
technical
perfection... ... And for being a small/medium-sized company solution is
perhaps too
expensive (they might choose MySQL, even Firebird).... So IMHO it's hard to
find a
big market for it.
Going back to the Clipper replacement tool. I think that Delphi + Interbase
+ a good reporter (like
FastReport) is such a winning combination. Yeah, people can get that part by
part, but if
Borland would wrap it up as "Business Database Developer Kït" at a good
price it might be a winner.
As WIN32 becomes legacy it might be a good way to get rid of old timers (bad
joke...)
I know I may appear short-sighted, but I still think many developers only
need strong and easy
solutions for developing their database products.
