So do I ;-)

It wasn't but there's no need to apoligize ;-)
If you need cross-platform *today*, go Java. I believe tomorrow .Net *might*
become a good alternative but it shouldn't be the main (or even "a") reason
for adopting the technology now.

Let me put it this way: I'd be outraged if they made the Delphi IDE like the
BuilderX one <G>
Regarding Wine I have no opinion. I've only seen it in screenshots and never
tried it directly so I cannot comment.

That makes 2 of us ;-)

Agreed but the lack of standards is something that might hurt Linux on the
desktop as well.

Definitely.

FTR: Mono is not for GUIs as of now and neither was my initial post ;-) That
is why I specified "ASP.Net and server apps".
No offense, but I have no intention to prove anything of what you're asking
for since that wasn't my initial point. If I was asked what to use to do GUI
cross-platform apps I'd say... well, good luck <G>

The disagreement with your sentence was that to me Mono is something that
allows to run apps designed for *.Net* to run on a Linux implementation of
.Net ;-)
