For me, the big advantage that IntraWeb for Delphi offers is ease of
deployment. I'm working on a vertical-market application that will be
deployed in individual offices, and I've been evaluating both IntraWeb for
Delphi and ASP.NET for this task. Given that my target market is a small
business owner or office manager, I was looking very hard at deployment
issues, and this is what I saw (others will no doubt have a different
perspective):
Have a non-expert end-user install, maintain, and cope with ongoing security
issues for:
- IIS, MSDE, .NET framework, and my ASP.NET application
or
- my IW application with embedded database

>From my perspective as a developer, it's also a benefit that the end-user
can't alter my IW application code as they could the non-code-behind HTML &
javascript in ASP.NET.
