Um, Longhorn most assuredly will run on non-64 bit hardware (plain old x86),
so how could Win64 be the new native API?

What we're seeing with .NET is a common set of API's that will be available
on both 32-bit and 64-bit platforms.

Over time, I'd expect to see more and more apps written to the .NET API and
the native 32-bit and 64-bit Windows API's will be mainly for low-level OS
stuff and drivers and, possibly, applications where speed is paramount and
portability is not an issue.
