'helps'? Some would see it as 'force'. Also, to claim it's easier is
a complete nonsense. Simply writing an e-mail is much easier than
entering into QC.

Baloney. I, and hundreds of thousands of others have managed very
successfully searching nesgroups and/or Google and/or Tamaracka and/or
(insert your favourite here) for YEARS.

No, they're not. QC is limited to only what customers have reported via
QC. Searching through newsgroups and/or Google (etc - you get the
idea) will net you a far larger search result.
