About Delphi 8 and ASP.NET

Hi,

A friend of mine wich wants to buy Delphi 8 asked me.
He will have to know anything about ASP in order to use Delphi 8?
He said people says INTRAWEB was 100% Delphi,but I would have to study JavaScript in order to master it.
Do the same apply to Delphi 8?
