Actually whats seems attractive for me is the ability to just jump over
Winforms
and go directly with Avalon and stick with W32 until further (or until
avalon
gets more interesting). The fact that Whidbey is delayed is a real gift from
God
for Borland, because that will allow them to catch up on the .NET features
with
the next release of Delphi.
The fact that Microsoft is pouring out so many "frameworks" in a relatively
short time, might backfire to them. A really slick move would be for Borland
to
develope a state of the art VCL for avalon (cutting down the development
time
need for the end user) while keeping support for VCL.NET. Winforms would
actually just give them time to do it right.
