I never quite figured out the logic behind the decision not to release
the MS SQL Server driver for dbExpress in Delphi 7 Pro.
Here's what Borland says on the Delphi 7 Professional product page:
"Expand your market opportunities: use one code base to leverage the
power of cross-platform development for Linux®". The page goes on to say
"Get your e-business and Web Services applications ready...". So how do
you write cross-platform applications without dbExpress, and how do you
write e-business and Web Services applications without being able to
support Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle or DB2?
It looks to me like there's a disconnect between what the product is
intended to be used for, and what comes in the box.
