I also have done a fair bit of compact framework development with C# &
VS.NET. Unfortunately it is not yet available for Delphi. :-( As soon as it
is I will switch to Delphi.

I think using D8 and ASP.NET regularly validates Delphi.NET as a development
tool overall, especially having used VS.NET for other projects before
Delphi.NET was available but now choosing to use Delphi.NET instead. I dont
choose not to do "smart client" apps because Delphi.NET is not up to it but
rather .NET framework doesn't yet provide me what I am after.

EWF and IW are probably good, but they seem to be very much niche products.
Delphi itself is considered by many to be a niche product and something that
is a niche within a niche seems a risky proposition. The only time I would
consider niche products is if there is no mainstream competition that comes
close, like comparing Delphi to VB6.
