How many do you truly believe will run out and *upgrade* to new 64 bit
versions of MS Office just because it is 64 bit and, technically, will run
faster? What is going to be so different, for a user, running a 64 bit Word
versus a 32 bit Word? For the vast majority of business software, no matter
how custom, no matter what market or industry, the exact same rule applies -
there will be no significant benefit for the user for such an upgrade unless
that upgrade also includes signifcant feature or other quality improvements.

Which makes my case - there is no urgency at all for people to upgrade
current software *even if they update the hardware*.

You seem to have this notion that everyone is going to be in a hurry to
replace their current hardware in order to have 64 bit. That replacement is
going to take several years. No matter how many new 64 bit machines are
purchased, existing machines will need to be usable for several years in
most businesses.
