You could write Notepad Pro and you'd have met the requirements of the
offer as far as I know. Also, I saw nothing indicating that you had to
tell them what your product did, only that you had to produce a product
and have it ready for distribution within (I believe) one year.

I wouldn't call that "too good to be true", Joel of Joel on Software
seemed to think it was a great offer (might that be because it, in
fact, is?). You get 5 licenses to MSDN Universal (but only one media
pack-- might be an issue for a company that has it's employees spread
out) which includes rights to use 5 full copies of Visual Studio .NET,
not to mention everything else that comes with MSDN Universal. You
also get your choice of server platforms (including Exchange and SQL
Server licenses) and more.

I mean, for $375, the requirements are pretty simple-- they're
practically giving it away.
