"We've put 150 files on your computer totaling 50 MB. They do nothing - it's just 50 MB of of binary
0. We think it's cool and know you will to. The uses of these is obvious. If you don't like it, you
can't do anything about it. Tough luck. You have a big hard drive, so it's not like it's taking up
that much room, right?"
I bet you'd want to remove those files. I see no difference between 50 MB of junk and 50 MB of MS
files that I will never use. I should be allowed ot remove them. It's not a concern to you. I don't
have a big hard drive in any of the computers I regularly use, so it is important to me. I clear my
recycle box every day and regularly clean out the temp folders. Temp internet files get
automatically deleted when I exit the browser. Why should I have to put up with any software on my
machine that I don't want? I have never used Netmeeting. I cannot ever foresee using it in the
future. It is not used by a single person in the agency. Yet it gets installed on every machine
because that is the default. MS Office allows a typical and customizable install - I'm just saying
Windows should do the same. Okay, bad example - Netmeeting isn't that hard to get rid of, but you
get the idea.
If I have a functional computer that has no trace of IE, Outlook Express, or Office, I've just
greatly reduced the number of virus, trojans, worms, etc that can effect me. Since I don't use
these products at all, deleting them would be beneficial. Keeping them helps me not a bit, and may
harm me if my antivirus software misses something.

There a quite a few things that force you to use IE, even if you have a different browser installed.
Forcing me to have a browser is one thing, forcing me to use a substandard (IMHO) browseris another.

I don't want to take it away from them, I want them to quit making me use the newbie default.
They've decided these things are good for me, when I know they are not.
