This is because, as you already stated, companies associate the
technology (.NET in this case) with the language C#. But this is not
the message that Microsoft speaks, nor is it the fact. C#, while is
was born by Microsoft, is a standard language and stands on its own
AFAIC. It is advantageous for Microsoft to open its IDE to whatever
flavor of programming language that can compile to generate IL. I am
hopeful that in the future, the two can be removed from one another.

Certainly, there is some education that could be done in this area.
Understand, I'm not a language bigot by any means. I am, however, more
comfortable in using Delphi than any other language at this time. That
could change, I'm starting to think about X#. <g>.
