Well, I can tell you that I took the certification exam a few years
back. I took it without the aid of a study guide and it was difficult
but I managed it.

The worst bit was that the certification got me exactly nothing. No
would-be employers were impressed by it. It didn't open any doors. I
didn't get any work because of it.

Even Borland themselves seemed to ignore it when I applied to them for
a job. In fact, come to think of it, Borland had to be cajoled to send
me the certificate in the first place!

That was the last time I ever bothered.
