In order of preference of those I've used (from worst to best):

PVCS (worst/least favorite)
MS VSS (not too bad)
freevcs (pretty good)
* Team (pretty darn good)
Team Coherence (best/favorite)

Of course, there's always the "poor man's VCS" in GExperts ("backup
project")
