Very good points!

imo Borland has already lost/is loosing the dotNet race. Yes, Delphi for
MS.Net is very good option (the best?) for porting existing Delphi
written systems to the Ms.Net framework, but to start new projects with
it (for the sake of your career) is sadly difficult to motivate - that
is the reality for me.

Borland has 2 options:

1. Borland should focus strongly on creating a tool for Unmanaged
compiled applications. (for g%ds sake if you have any plans, TELL
EVERYONE now! or else it may be too late). This is an open opportunity
for a RAD laguage tool. (The only alternatives now for Native 64bit are
MS C++ and C). NOTE: It does not need to use Win64, there are other
API's avaliable too. The Delphi language and Delphi IDE could be a VERY
strong contender here! Add to this Kylix and CLX for Linux and you can
sell a powerful solution. Show your commitment! Never make handcuff
agreements with M$ - if have or are planning to make any..

2. Create a RAD tool that targets the Mono framework exclusively. Also
currently an open opportunity for a good commercial dev tool.
