Actually, by "techie" standards, one could call me a slacker. I used to
be extremely hardcore, but I now put my wife and children before my
profession, which means I try to stick to a forty-hour workweek. Writing
books and giving seminars would mean spending a significant amount of time
away from my family.

With the above said, I have considered starting a blog with my thoughts on
software development. There are plenty of blogs that deal with the
technical details of software development, but very few that attack the
value-add/fiduciary/risk aspects. The sad truth is that a technical
professional will never win a technical argument with a manager by framing
the conversion in a technical manner (i.e., the "my tool is better than your
tool" argument). Most managers are just not interested in the technical
details.
