Sorry, but this strikes me as one of the most reckless and silly things I'be
seen in a while.

First of all, if you installed D2005 you already have .NET 1.1 installed on
your PC, so what's the point of removing dependencies on it? You already sat
through the download and installation of .NET 1.1 but now you aren't going
to get any of the benefits of having done so. Delphi 2005 is hardly the last
application that will have dependencies on .NET. You'll just have to
re-install it again later anyway.

Second, how in the world can you realistically expect to apply patches from
Borland? In fact, how can you ever know that any bugs you encounter are not
due to your hack? I can just imagine the fun at Borland when followers of
this hack report bugs. This is a support nightmare.

Third, surely there must be ways to decrease loadtime that are better than
crippling the product this way.

Fourth, if refactoring is disabled by this hack, you've disabled one of the
major draws to D2005 for Win32 developers.
