Got a mail from my local reseller, and it is interesting to compare the
prices:
D2005 Pro New Norway 9,497 NOK - 1,532 $ USD Incl. VAT
D2005 Pro New Norway 7,659 NOK - 1,235 $ USD Excl. VAT
D2005 Pro Upg Norway 4,031 NOK - 650 $ USD Incl. VAT
D2005 Pro Upg Norway 3,251 NOK - 524 $ USD Excl. VAT
D2005 Pro New U.S.A 999 $ USD
D2005 Pro Upg U.S.A 399 $ USD
D2005 Arc New Norway 28,520 NOK - 4,600 $ USD Incl. VAT
D2005 Arc New Norway 23,000 NOK - 3,709 $ USD Excl. VAT
D2005 Arc Upg Norway 20,203 NOK - 3,258 $ USD Incl. VAT
D2005 Arc Upg Norway 16,293 NOK - 2,630 $ USD Excl. VAT
D2005 Arc New U.S.A 3,000 $ USD
D2005 Arc Upg U.S.A 1,999 $ USD
The American prices are from Borland's web site.
About Norway:
Everybody has to pay VAT on anything bought, private persons, companies,
regardless.
Hobbyists and shareware writers that do not exceed the lower treshold
for generated revenue to enter the "system", do not get VAT back from
the state.
Companies established in the system get the VAT back after 2 months, but
still have to pay an additional 7% investment tax on the primary price.
I wonder to what extent the local resellers here get a rebate from
Borland? Normally resellers do. In any case, I think the price
difference is too high.
